Gursharan Buttar

Gursharan Buttar is the General Manager and Journalist at My Radio 580, he hosts the Morning show and conducts imperative community focussed talk-shows. He specializes in radio broadcasting and has over 25 years of experience in the media. Gursharan began his broadcasting journey as a passion in 1995, commencing off with just a weekly 15-minute segment on a local radio station, which eventually transitioned into a full-time career in broadcasting. He has founded 4 radio stations in both Edmonton & Calgary, throughout his career he has had the opportunity to attend significant community events and attend government-hosted foreign trips, as a reporting journalist. Furthermore, he has spearheaded vital fundraisers for organizations, such as The Edmonton Food Bank, Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute, and the Red Cross of Canada. He was recognized for his countless efforts by the Government of Alberta for his media services by being a recipient of the prestigious Medallion award. Gursharan enjoys his leisure time travelling, connecting with nature, and networking.
