Shahina Tanweer

Background

Shahina Tanweer is a dedicated community awareness consultant and life coach, and co- founder of the mental health organization Neurolim, delivering impactful workshops on topics essential to Edmonton’s diverse communities. Holding a Bachelor of Science in Child Psychology, Shahina provides leadership within the Muslim community, specializing in mentorship, education, and marriage counseling.

Over the past three years, Shahina has been an OMNI TV correspondent and host of Parwaaz TV. She has also been a prominent voice and guest speaker on OMNI TV’s Focus Punjabi. Her experience also includes over 16 years in early learning child care as a Program Director for YMCA Northern Alberta. This work highlights her commitment to advocating for diverse voices and supporting families in navigating cultural complexities.

Certified in Mental Health First Aid, family violence protocols, and psychological first aid, Shahina serves as a mental health community responder, providing critical support within her Muslim community. As a community-minded Edmontonian, she has led annual fundraising events for Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital and the Indus Development Foundation, often as an emcee. Shahina also champions empowerment initiatives, organizing Chand Raat bazaars to support home-based women entrepreneurs, and actively participating in the St. Albert Interfaith Organization.

Shahina brings her expertise and energy to the airwaves as the host of the Urdu show Gup Shup every Sunday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on My Radio 580AM.
